"We've already agreed to disagree on the finer points of ethics." He chuckled softly, taking the book back to the case and selecting a second one.

"Finer points, my butt. I don't think that was legal." Tempest stuck her tongue out at him, half-smiling.

"And we've agreed to disagree about magical law." He telekinetically gently flicked her tongue.

It's true, though. And Keith really should tune it down unless he wants to be locked up in a cell that blocks magical ability.

And he realized that. He's not going to do any more magic like that around her.

Keith began deciphering the second book.

Tempest raised her eyebrows and pulled her tongue back into her mouth, feeling slightly violated. She turned back to her book and tried to ignore Keith.

Keith worked in mostly silence, occasionally making a small pleased sound.

Tempest flipped through the pages in her book, then grumbled and reached for another one to check a reference. She scribbled something down into a blank book.

Keith glanced at her. "Need a hand?"

Tempest shrugged. "I'm writing my essay on summoning lightning for Professor Darsmoon. There are some inconsistencies between these two books, and I'm not sure which one's right." She pushed the books across the table top toward him.

He spun them around, looking at them, back and forth between the two books. "Maybe we should try both methods and see which is more effective."

Tempest rolled her eyes. "This is an essay. I really don't want to ruin my chances of learning Weather Manipulation magic, and lightning summoning isn't exactly... inconspicuous."

"We can go out of the city. No one has to notice." He grinned. "We'd be far away from anyone who could be hurt if it got out of hand."

"Or we could go to the school and see if we can ask someone there, since I have detention anyway," she huffed, suddenly remembering. "Crap."

"Ooh, that sucks. I'll come with."

Tempest gestured to the Mind Bending book he was reading. "Probably won't want to take that along... imagine having to explain that to the guards." She snickered.

"Right." He set it back. "I have my notes, I can study those." He chuckled.

Tempest gathered her books and her implement (*OOC* and I've completely forgotten what she was using, so I'm rereading the Iseld Teser thread to see if I can find it) and put them into a bag. "Maybe I should grab some money. So we can get food later."

"I'll treat you." He grinned.

Tempest narrowed her eyes at him, trying to figure him out. "This better not turn into a habit. No, it's okay, I've got it." She glanced at the clock on the wall. "But, I need to grab my money. I'll be right back."

Tempest headed to her room to grab her money, then came back down. "Okay, well, we should probably go so I'm not late. Otherwise, I'll get even more detention." She rolled her eyes.

"Right-o." He stood, opening and holding the door for her.
